This series of tours will highlight the unique, scenic waterways and natural resources of Humboldt County. No previous paddling experience is required for many of these special trips as basic kayak instructions are included. These tours are equivalent to our Sea Kayaking Introduction course and may be used as a pre-requisite to the sea kayak seminar and surf zone classes.
Mad River Slough Tour

Join us for a paddle on the Mad River Slough, located on the northern part of Humboldt Bay. There will be plenty of opportunities to bird watch, paddle, and enjoy these waterways that are right in our backyard! Additional information will be mailed upon registration.

Southern Humboldt Bay: Wildlife Refuge Tour

Join us for a unique and scenic paddle tour in the southern end of Humboldt Bay which is part of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. This is an area rich in wildlife, including migratory shorebirds, egrets, herons, raptors, harbor seals and more! Additional information will be mailed upon registration.

Tour of the Eel River Slough & Cock Robin Island

This tour takes place on the Eel River Slough and Cock Robin Island located just north of Ferndale and west of Loleta. This is an area rich in wildlife as it is influenced by both fresh water flowing from the Eel River and by saltwater coming in and out with the tides. Additional information will be mailed upon registration.

Eureka Waterfront Sea Kayaking Tour

Join us for a paddle on the Eureka Waterfront and Woodley Island area. This four-hour tour will put in at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. There will be plenty of opportunity to view wildlife, paddle and enjoy the waterfront from the bay. Additional information will be mailed upon registration.

Northern Humboldt Bay: Arcata to Eureka Tour
September 18
This tour crosses Humboldt Bay and provides a view and perspective of the local area unseen by most. We will be following the tide and paddling with the current to the Samoa Boat Ramp. This paddle is designed for the experienced beginner to intermediate paddler with a trip distance of about five miles. Additional information will be mailed upon registration.
