Surfing II

Are you ready to get out of the whitewater and surf real waves? Join us for the continuation of Surfing I with a progression of skills from paddling out to the line-up to negotiating the waves. Surf gear is provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own. Transportation will be by carpool.
Prerequisite: Surfing I, or instructor approval
Mandatory Pre-Trip Meeting: Wednesday, July 21, 6:00 pm, University Center South Lounge
Program Fee: $57
Program fee includes: instructors, surfboard, wetsuit, booties, and instructional materials

Women's Surfing I
Option I: September 19
Option II: September 25
Sometimes it can be intimidating to gear up for the cold waters of Northern California, grab a giant board and charge those crashing waves. Here is a great opportunity for women to shine, throw off all inhibitions and excuses, get out and learn how to surf! This course will be taught by experienced women surfers that have been riding local waves for years. Transportation will be by carpool.
Mandatory Pre-trip Meeting: Wednesdays, 6:00 pm, Nelson Hall East 113
Program Fee: $44 HSU Students, $59 All Others
Program Fee Includes: instructors, surfboard, wetsuit, booties, and instructional materials

Surfing I
Option I: September 12
Option II: September 18
This course offers students the opportunity to safely learn and enjoy the sport of surfing! Designed for the individual having little or no surfing experience, we will focus on water safety, surf etiquette, ocean awareness, surfboard handling and technique. We will surf where the conditions are best for beginning surfers. Transportation will be by carpool.

The Surfing Series includes both Surfing I or Women’s Surfing I, and Surfing II or Women’s Surfing II classes.

Join us for a continuation of Women’s Surfing I! Build upon the basics and paddle out to the line-up in a comfortable and fun atmosphere with experienced women surfers. Transportation will be by carpool.
